Kappa Klassic
The Kappa Klassic is a golf tournament held at A.L.
Gustin golf course that benefits the Boys and Girls
Club of Columbia. Usually centered around our Dad's
weekend, it is a great chance for not only fraternities but also our dads to get involved.
This past fall our annual philanthropy was the most successful it has ever been!! We had 11 fraternities participate, and they included: Pike, Phi Psi, Beta Sig, AKL, Lambda Chi, KA, Beta, FIJI, Sig Pi, Sig Ep, and Phi Kap. Kappa raised $18,825.69 for the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia, as well as donated 150 hours of community service. The highlight, and new addition, to our week this fall was spending time with the children from Boys and Girls Club. The women of KKG, as well as the participating fraternities, invited the youth to come to MU's campus and play games outdoors on Stankowski Field. The afternoon was ended with a delicious BBQ held in the back parking lot of KKG. What a fun-filled philanthropy!!
Kappa Kappa Gamma nationally has adopted a philanthropy called Reading is Fundamental or RIF. RIF works by helping serve the nation's undeserved children and families through the development of literacy programs that motivate youth to read regularly.
Theta Chapter plans on focusing their efforts to help youth by volunteering to read with children at the Boy's and Girl's Club.
